The friendly Magpie, taken in Kamloops, British Columbia.

Magpies are birds of the Crow family and have been known to be a highly intelligent species through what’s known as a “mirror” test.  This particular species in Kamloops is known as the Black-billed Magpie.  They are very impressive in stature and are a about the size of a small crow. Their wings and tail feature a rich blue that makes them quite an attractive bird.

The Magpie in this shot actually posed for the picture and stood in that same manner for about 15 seconds, as to say “how’s this?”
